You could say you have to be brave to be a spy. You must be especially brave to be a spy while traveling in a hot-air balloon above an enemy army camp or a battlefield. For a time, Cuban born Federico Fernández Cavada was such a spy during the American Civil War. He then went on to fight for liberation in his homeland where his life was tragically cut short.
