CKMusic: Grade 7
Focus:
Grade 7 CKMusic consists of five units. In Elements of Music, students will expand their knowledge of musical notation and terminology as they review the basic elements of the orchestra. They then explore Romantic Period Music through the composers who were responsible for the many changes in music and creativity at the time. In the Music of Norway, Russia, and Mexico unit they see how music expresses national identity. This will lead to looking at the music of America, first through Blues, as they study the social context and influence of the musical form, and then through Jazz, and the works and influence of multiple composers and performers.
