Louisiana Bayou Bridges Grade 2

Focus:
Grade 2 of the Louisiana Bayou Bridges Curriculum Series takes students through the four major subject areas of social studies–geography, history, economics, and civics—with a focus on the United States. Students will explore the geography and countries of North America. They will meet some of the first peoples to live in what is now the United States and follow the history of the United States from colonial times to the writing of the U.S. Constitution. They will see how the Constitution shapes U.S. government and learn how they can demonstrate civic virtues that support the principles of the Constitution. Students will also learn a little bit about how the U.S. economy works and the roles they can play within that economy.
