CKMusic: Grade 3


Focus:
Grade 3 CKMusic contains three units. In Elements of Music, students continue their study of such fundamentals as rhythm, tempo, melody, harmony, form, dynamics, and timbre; learning to identify and describe the elements through listening, singing, playing, and creating music. The Orchestra unit explores the brass and woodwind families of the orchestra and how they contribute to orchestral music as they listen to music that highlights specific instruments. The Composers unit explores the lives and works of Tchaikovsky, Sousa, Copland, and others, looking at how their personal experiences and cultural backgrounds shaped their music.

Number of Lessons: 30

Instruction Time: 45 minutes each. Each lesson may be divided into smaller segments.
