CK Visual Arts: Grade 1


Focus:
Grade 1 CKVA is comprised of three units. In Elements of Art, students will explore and describe the ways in which artists use color, line, shape, form, and texture in works of art, and explore the elements in their own creations.

In Still Lifes, Portraits, and Murals, students learn the concept of genres, focusing on portraits and still lifes.

In Ancient Art and Architecture, students learn about cave paintings, ancient Egyptian monuments and tombs, and pyramids around the world. Students will explore ways that humans have created art over time and identify the elements of art used by different cultures.

Number of Lessons: 28

Instruction Time: 45 minutes each. Each lesson may be divided into smaller segments.
