Grades K–2: Create a Birthday Card for the Declaration

Students design a birthday card that honors the Declaration of Independence, helping them recognize it as a key symbol in our nation’s story.  
Grades 3–6: Explore the Declaration as a Breaking Point

Students uncover what led to the Declaration of Independence, then turn its powerful words into original blackout poetry that captures its big ideas.
Grades 7–8: Explore Powerful Primary Sources

Students analyze primary sources that influenced, and were influenced by, the Declaration, building deeper understanding of the arguments, context, and impact of 1776.
