New Teacher Orientation Purchase Information

$495

The New Teacher Orientation in-service training process is designed to orient new teachers to the Core Knowledge content and approach, including: a review of the research and literature base that informs the Core Knowledge Sequence and the relationship between knowledge, vocabulary, language, and reading ability; identification and location key resources for teaching Core Knowledge; use of curriculum planning tools and methods; consideration of implementation challenges and remediation strategies; and identification of actions that result in a deepening understanding of Core Knowledge continued professional growth.

The New Teacher Orientation materials include a participant workbook, instructor guides for the Core Knowledge Coordinator and teacher mentors, and a CD containing PDF copies of all components.

Make a purchase request for New Teacher Orientation materials. Upon receipt of your request, one of our professional development coordinators will consult with you to complete your purchase.

Note: The New Teacher Orientation module is based on recent revisions to our workshops designed to emphasize domain-based planning and instruction. Schools that participated in Getting Started prior to June 2011 will need to demonstrate that they have a solid year-long curriculum plan and individual domain maps using the rubrics provided on the curriculum planning tools web page or they must participate in the Curriculum Mapping for Continuous Improvement workshop, prior to purchasing New Teacher Orientation.
