Deferred Awarding of Core Knowledge Official School Designation

Awarding of the Core Knowledge Official School designation may be deferred if there are implementation refinements to be made, but the school demonstrates a commitment to remediate deficiencies. In such cases, the Core Knowledge Foundation will notify the applicant school of any matters to be resolved and will provide a timetable within which remediation must occur.

Upon meeting the necessary conditions, the school is required to submit documentation of remediation to the Core Knowledge Foundation.

In some cases, a return visit, at the school’s expense, may be required to verify that remediation conditions have been met successfully.
