Domain-based Unit Plans

The Core Knowledge domain-based units leverage Core Knowledge content to improve the development of students' language, knowledge, and reading comprehension. The units are exemplary models that demonstrate the spirit and intent of Common Core State Standards implementation.

Core Knowledge Classic Lesson Plans

The Core Knowledge classic lesson plans do not adhere to the domain-based unit format, but can be a helpful starting point for the creation of domain-based units.

Colorado Lesson Plans and Units

This collection of units was created by Colorado teachers participating in the 1999-2004 Colorado Unit Writing Project.  Units were produced for prekindergarten through grade eight as well as Physical Education, Library, Art, Music, and Spanish.

The Baltimore Curriculum Project

Using the Core Knowledge Sequence, the Baltimore Curriculum Project has created unit lessons for kindergarten through grade five in Art, Geography, History, Literature, Music and Science.

National Conference Unit Submission

Domain-based units will be the submission format accepted for the 2011 Core Knowledge National Conference. Submissions for the 2011 Core Knowledge National Conference will be accepted after May 1, 2011.
