		<description>You're right--Isaac does paint his arguments with a very broad brush.  What he describes is plagiarism.  The internet has no doubt made this sort of plagiarism much easier, but it has also made it easier to detect plagiarism, as my teacher/wife can attest.

Still, the larger point--that critical thinking requires sustained and sometimes solitary engagement with challenging content--stands.  Our most exciting projects often require some drudgery, and we do students a disservice if we train them to abandon any effort that doesn't offer immediate rewards.  Responsible advocates for technology in education know that.  

When it does not lead students to plagiarize, internet research can require a great deal of reading, analysis, synthesis, etc.  Rather than turning away from technology--an impossible task these days, schools must help students  use it responsibly....</description>
