Krambrooke-Griffin Academy in Washington Township is in the initial stages of blending its current core knowledge curriculum with an international education program.
The focus is on how various educational disciplines are interrelated, how they relate to our global environment and to each student and their community,” said Kathy Kram, owner of Krambrooke-Griffin Academy. “This is not a separate subject but rather a method of integrating these values into the current curriculum.”
Kelly Winkel, Krambrooke’s marketing coordinator, said the program was created by the International Baccalaureate Organization. It is currently being offered at the fifth and sixth grade level but will ultimately be offered at all of the academy’s grade levels as well as in Krambrooke’s preschool program as teachers are trained. Once the academy fulfills all of the requirements, it will become accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization, Winkel said.
