Call for Units, Assessments and Presentations

“This year was the first year that I ever presented at a conference and it was one of the best things I have ever done professionally. I learned a lot and the teachers that attended my presentation seemed to learn a lot too. I am hoping to present another unit next year.”

The Core Knowledge Conference department will accept unit submissions through June 2.

Accepted “Share the Knowledge” unit presentations will receive
one 50% discounted full 3-day registration
for the contact presenter.

Preference is given to:

  1. Presentations that incorporate a variety of assessments, technology skills, strategies for a variety of learners, and integrated across content areas.
  2. Units written for grade levels and topics for which we don't have units on our website.
    (See Priority Topics List for more details).
  3. Units submitted on-time, with all required forms, in the proper format. (See the schedule below for submission methods.)
  4. Participants of Summer Writing Institutes
Important Dates and Information
June 2 Submissions must be complete and received in-house by this date.

A complete submission includes:

  1. Complete online submission form
    Contact to request late submission.
  2. The unit itself
    • Units of any size may be sent on CD-ROM to
      • The Core Knowledge Foundation
        Attn: National Conference Selection Committee

  3. Permission to Reprint form (so we can publish your unit on our CD)

June 9 Confirmation of receipt of submission and all forms will be e-mailed within one week of receipt
June 13 Notifications (acceptance or rejection) will be e-mailed
June 30 Deadline of receipt of requested changes, if any
