Core Knowledge Preschool Assessment Tool Update

This patch updates Version 3.1 Core Knowledge Preschool Assessment Tool (CKPAT) to version 3.12

The update performs the following modifications to the CKPAT 3.1 database:

• Adds Additional Student Progress Reports
  • Mid Year to End of School — these reports calculate student progress utilizing assessment results from the Mid Year and End of School assessment periods only. Assessments from the Start of School period are not included in the calculations.
  • Start of School to End of School — these reports calculate student progress utilizing assessment results from the Start of School and End of School assessment periods only. Assessments from the Mid Year period are not included in the calculations.
• Data Entry Additions
  • CKPAT users can now create up to five (5) Custom Skill Groups for easier entry of assessment scores.
• Report Updates
  • Updates the Classroom and School Distribution Reports for Head Start Domains for the Mid Year assessment period and the Parent Letter for Core Knowledge Domains for the Start of School assessment period.

Preparation for update:

1. Back up your database! Please copy your C:\Program Files\Core Knowledge\CKPAT\CKPAT.mdb file to another location so that you can easily restore it should anything go wrong during the update.
2. If you installed CKPAT into any directory other than the default path C:\Program Files\Core Knowledge\CKPAT\ you will need to put a copy of your database in the default location in order for the update to succeed. It will only look for your CKPAT.mdb file there.

Installation:

Please note: this is a very large download, over 5 Mb. If you do not have a high speed internet connection, please ask the Preschool Department to send you a CD.

1. Select your download link:
• » CKPAT 3.12 Update
• » CKPAT 3.12 Update for Arkansas

When you see the File Download Security Warning, click on the Save button and save the file to your computer. Be sure to note the save location so you can find the file after it is downloaded.


2. After the file is saved, open it by double clicking on the file icon. When the file has been opened, click on "Install CKPAT 3.12 Update".
   
3. The Update will run and a dialog box will appear noting that the Update is complete. Click OK and the application will close. The CKPAT database will now be updated to version 3.12
