West Manor Elementary in Atlanta, Georgia, Arlington International Leadership School in Jackson, Tennessee, and East Texas Christian Academy in Tyler, Texas, are three outstanding Core Knowledge Visitation and Official Schools being recognized at this year’s Core Knowledge National Conference in Washington, D.C.
Arlington International Leadership SchoolWith the help of the Core Knowledge curriculum and its emphasis on the cultures of other parts of the world, the students of Arlington International Leadership School seem to be world travelers! At their International Festival, students “visited” countries like Thailand, Egypt, Costa Rica, Mexico, and China. Arlington students also demonstrate their knowledge of the history, geography, and culture of the United States during events like Colonial Day and the fourth-grade Parade of States. Arlington International Leadership School, of Jackson, Tennessee, will be recognized as a Core Knowledge Visitation School at the 2007 National Conference.

The pictures displaying the work of students from kindergarten through fifth grade at West Manor Elementary demonstrate two things — the comprehensiveness of the Core Knowledge curriculum and how much fun the students are having!
