Introducing the Core Knowledge Forums
When our President, Barbara Garvin-Kester, came back from her trip to Utah, she told me that teachers would like to be able to chat together about Core Knowledge topics. At first I considered a real-time online chat room, but that limits discussions to people who are online at the same time. What I have done instead is implement user forums, a first for our website.

The user forums, also called "message boards," should be easy to navigate and search, and have simple user registration. If you are unfamiliar with online message boards, there will be a slight learning curve as you come to understand the features and operations, but do not despair, message boards are easily mastered. If you are able to browse our bookstore, you will find it easy to use the forums.
The forums are in an undeveloped state. Would you like to be a forum moderator? We need moderators to manage the content and develop the topics. Being a moderator is not a high-tech challenge. You will have special rights attached to your account which permit you to edit and remove messages, and perform other member-management tasks. Please contact The Webmaster if you are interested. There will probably be a small monetary stipend for the position.
Once we have moderators in place, I will add a link to our pages so you can easily navigate to the forums. For now, you are invited to a "sneak preview."
The forums can become a friendly place for exchange of ideas and discussion of teaching and policy. Please drop by for a visit, post your suggestions, ask questions, reply to other posts, don't be a stranger!
