The official conference hotels are the Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk, steps away from San Antonio’s famed River Walk. Special rates are available, so be sure to mention Core Knowledge when you make your reservations with the hotels. We expect over 2,200 attendees and 50 exhibitors to join us February 23-25, 2006. We hope that you are able to add your energy and enthusiasm for learning to the group!
Here are a few of the highlights that will help make this conference a memorable experience.

A unique teaching style… Bill Nye the Science Guy has one that he will share with you at our keynote luncheon on Friday, February 24SACVB/Richard Reynolds 
- A successful reading program… E. D. Hirsch, Jr., will share his ideas on narrowing the 4th-grade gap in reading achievement at the general session on Thursday, February 23
- A time with the experts… World-renowned reading and learning experts will share the results of their studies regarding elementary education on Thursday, February 23
- A feast of knowledge… Mathematicians, scientists, historians, writers and technology experts will be on hand to enrich teachers’ knowledge and understanding in specific content areas. Choose from over 50 sessions on Friday, February 24
- A great opportunity… Core Knowledge consultants will offer sessions on classroom management, student literacy, and grant writing on Thursday, February 23. Plus, over 100 teachers will present units and lesson plans for all grade levels and subject areas that you can use in your own classroom on Saturday, February 25
One last thing… Tours of Core Knowledge schools will be conducted on Thursday February 23. Reservations are limited and the cost $30/person, so call or email for details.
